Base pay range

$225,000.00/yr – $275,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the in-house accounting and finance team, fostering professional development and a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement scalable financial processes, policies, and strategies that align with organizational goals and support long-term growth.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and efficiency initiatives across the finance function, leveraging technology and best practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including planning, reporting, and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to execute financial strategies, optimize profitability, and support strategic business initiatives.
  • Manage daily cash operations and prepare accurate cash flow reports to ensure liquidity and effective working capital management.
  • Perform month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with policies.
  • Produce, analyze, and present comprehensive financial reports and key performance metrics to leadership.
  • Maintain the general ledger, review and post journal entries, and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Evaluate, implement, and streamline policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen financial governance.
  • Drive financial discipline by developing, monitoring, and improving internal controls and operational compliance.
  • Lead forecasting and annual budget processes, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax filings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • 8+ years of managerial and progressive experience in accounting and finance, with experience in professional services firms a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP; understanding of partnership taxation is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with law firm or professional services accounting software is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; capable of effectively managing up and down within the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
