Finance Mgr – Business Finance & Accounting Leader

Finance Manager – Business Finance & Accounting Leader – Hicksville, NY or Farmingdale, NY, reporting to Director – Home, Beauty, Health (HBH) with full accountability for plant operations and profitability.

The opportunity: We are seeking a Business Finance & Accounting leader to manage the Hicksville and Farmingdale plants, providing fact‑based analysis, insights, and recommendations to improve operations, sales, and overall profitability. The role partners with the site General Manager and serves as a key business partner.

How you will impact:

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, emphasizing forecast accuracy.
• Use KPIs and plant initiatives to project growth opportunities beyond traditional product cost.
• Collaborate with Commercial Business leads to challenge and validate top‑line revenue expectations.
• Create simplified budget and reporting processes, balancing financial and non‑financial indicators.
• Communicate key impact items to business results and serve as a consultant for improvement plans.
• Support cost‑take‑out initiatives, review and track cost performance.
• Lead strategic planning (CAPEX) and coordinate long‑range capital needs with the General Manager.
• Assess competitor strengths and weaknesses to guide strategy.
• Oversee internal controls, ensuring adherence to documented policies and effective asset protection.
• Optimize processes through IT improvement and best practices.
• Conduct profitability analysis to identify margin erosion and facilitate improvement initiatives.
• Review and validate plant WIP, finished goods, raw materials, and P&L accounts.
• Assist with inventory counts, verification, and reconciliation.
• Monitor working capital and cash flow decisions.
• Deliver ad‑hoc analysis, plant comps, profitability programs, and visit decks to senior leadership.

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CMA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in pulp and paper or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Hyperion SmartView; QlikView a plus.
• Deep understanding of key metrics and large capital project financial management.
• Detail‑oriented team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, adapt quickly, and work independently.
