Role Description
Environmental Services Manager in Training (MIT) – This role provides hands‑on learning and potential future leadership within the support services team, covering operations management, safety, quality control, housekeeping, hiring, training, payroll, profit and loss, and more. MITs are assigned to a training location for on‑site learning and concurrently participate in Compass Group’s Accelerated Manager Program (AMP). Successful completion of AMP may lead to placement in a full‑time management position, contingent on performance and business need. MITs may also take on managerial assignments in Environmental Services Management.
AMP is a 12‑week (or longer) accelerated learning program combining assessment, organizational training, and one‑on‑one coaching to develop future leaders. Through AMP, MITs receive: competency‑based assessment, a personalized learning path (experiential learning, micro‑courses, simulations), peer support and mentorship, and a 360° evaluation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree received by June 2026 or prior (required)
- One year of customer service or related work or experience
- Willingness to relocate for the right role or advancement opportunity
- Demonstrated financial acumen: profit and loss management, inventory, and cash handling skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with peers, employees, clients, and customers
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced work environment
- Basic understanding of contract administration and client relations
- Basic knowledge of operating and maintenance instructions, safety regulations, codes, and use of departmental policy and procedure manuals
- Mechanical inclination
- Competency in all Microsoft Office applications
- Driver’s license (required for transportation roles)
